Canadian Scholars was founded in 1986 and is one of Canadas leading independent academic publishing companies. We remain one of a small number of firms publishing textbooks, scholarly works, and general interest. Womens Press, Canadas oldest English-language feminist publisher, was founded under collective ownership in 1972. It became an imprint of Canadian Scholars in 2000.
