Caritas Odessa UGCC

Caritas Odesa UGCC is a part of one of the largest international networks of charitable organizations in the world and Europe. Caritas network has over 115 years of history and brings together 165 affiliated national organizations from 200 countries, with the staff of several million employees and volunteers. The word Caritas means love and mercy, compassion and charity at the same time. The work of Caritas in Odesa is focused on four areas: health care, help for children, youth and families in crisis, dealing with social problems of migration and with the consequences of humanitarian crisis. For 12 years, the fund has taken care of lonely elderly people and HIV-infected people in the terminal stages of the disease in the program Home Care. Over the past three years Caritas Odesa UGCC helped more than 5,000 internally displaced persons.
