Cat5 Music is the student-run music marketing enterprise of the University of Miamis Frost School of Music. It was created by the Music Business Department in 2002 with the mission of providing a learning opportunity for music business students to gain real-world experience performing some of the functions of a contemporary music publishing company. It also serves to educate up-and-coming amateur songwriters on how to become professional songwriters from both a creative and business perspective.
