Catofoods is a fast-growing social enterprise that is addressing malnutrition and hidden hunger, especially in children under 5 years and pregnant women in Nigeria using our staple crops which have been biofortified as a cost-effective way to reduce infant mortality, stunted growth, the impaired vision among children and reduce maternal death. We leveraging on innovative technology to provide a sustainable solution to nutrition challenges. We are presently in the business of addressing malnutrition, especially Vitamin A micronutrient deficiency, especially in children under 5 years and pregnant women. This is because about 33% of children under the age of 5 years are Vitamin A deficient which tends to affect their eyesight, growth, and brain development and 1 in 5 of these children die from malnutrition-related disease every day, so also 1 in 13 pregnant women die every day due to malnutrition issue, especially Vitamin A micronutrients.
