Central American Fisheries

Central American Fisheries (CAF) is a Nicaraguan Corporation owned by Nicaraguan and Foreign investors. The Company has operations all along the Nicaraguan Caribbean and in the northern Pacific Coast also the main seafood processing plant located in Corn Island in the Caribbean Sea of Nicaragua. The plant is a self-sustained unit, with its own power, water, and security certified terminal, it has a capacity to process and freeze 30,000 pounds of seafood per day, specializing in lobster, shrimp and fish. Main sources of supply for the plant are independent day fishermen. These spread around the Corn Islands as well as the Caribbean Cays. CAF also exploits a number of permits for industrial fishing vessels. The plant has implemented its HACCP program and has been certified by the Nicaraguan Authorities for export to the European Union and other markets. External, independent audits are performed yearly.
