Centre for Health and Disability Assessments

Centre for Health and Disability Assessments (CHDA) is a subsidiary of MAXIMUS, a leading global provider of government health programmes. In the UK, CHDA carries out the Work Capability Assessments for the Health Assessment Advisory Service. We do this on behalf of Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). These assessments are designed to develop understanding of the specific impact an individuals long-term illness or disability has on their ability to work. They are an integral part of the process for claiming for Employment and Support Allowance (ESA). We work with people who have made a claim for ESA. We are often required to meet with them in person, to carry out assessments face-to-face. Its our responsibility to explore each individuals unique case - their needs, circumstances and capabilities.
