CGDIS - Corps grand-ducal dincendie et de secours

The Luxembourg Fire & Rescue Corps (CGDIS) has been established by the law of 27th of March 2018 organizing the civil security and entered into force on 1st of July 2018. CGDIS is a public-law institution that embraces all public rescue services that existed until then in a single organization. This includes the former civil protection units, the municipal fire brigades, the airport fire service and the emergency medical service. CGDIS is financed by the Government of Luxembourg and the municipalities. The personnel comprises about 500 professional rescue workers, 4000 volunteers and 130 administrative and technical staff.
