Channel Islands Competition and Regulatory Authorities

The Channel Islands Competition and Regulatory Authorities (the Competition Authority) comprises the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority (JCRA) and the Guernsey Competition and Regulatory Authority (GCRA). The States Assemblies of Jersey and Guernsey have tasked us to protect fair competition in business, passing legislation as a key tool to support us in carrying out that role. Our responsibilities encompass both competition law and economic regulation. Specifically, we are responsible for the pan-Channel Island administration and enforcement of competition law together with the economic regulation of the telecoms, ports and postal sectors in Jersey and the telecoms and electricity sector in Guernsey.
