Chennai Smart City Limited (CSCL) was incepted on 15th July 2016 with a vision to provide obvious SMART solutions to Chennai. By adapting state-of-the-art technology, CSCL has been driving economic growth, improving the standard of living, building core infrastructure and providing clean and sustainable environment in Chennai. Organization Achievements: 1st City in India to adopt and implement Non-motorized transport (NMT) policy to encourage pedestrianisation. 5275 km of Water Distribution mains and 3643 km of Sewer Network across Chennai. Metro Rail has been partially commissioned for 10km reach and Cetro Transport Corporation has a fleet of more than 4000 buses. 100 MLD desalination plants are added as an alternative reliable water source. Chennai is hailed as one of the safest city to live, especially for women along with Tamil Nadu Police Citizen Portal where citizens can lodge their grievances
