The Childrens Advocacy Center of Hidalgo County, a 501c3 organization, was established in June 2000 as a child-focused facility & community-based program. The Center is one of 500 Childrens Advocacy Centers nationwide, 71 in Texas and the first in Hidalgo County. The Center serves children 2 17 years of age who have been sexually, physically, emotionally abused or neglected. 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused by the age of 18.
