Chippys

Chippys is a family run business which was established in 1954 by our grandparents Mick & Ivy Brimsden and our parents Chuck & June Edwards at The Old Fish & Chip Shop in the market town of Clare, Suffolk. In 1955 we expanded our business to Haverhill taking over the old (Copseys) Fish & Chip shop at 36/38 High Street in Haverhill which is now where Axa Insurance is located). In 1966 we purchased our first Mobile Fish & Chip van and for ten years we travelled all over Suffolk selling fish & chips in the local towns and villages. Due to a redevelopment of the High Street in 1973, we had to close our shop but we moved to a purpose designed shop in Strasbourg Square on the Chalkstone Estate, Haverhill
