Chugachmiut

Chugachmiut is an Alaska Native tribal organization, and its name means people of the Chugach Region. Chugachmiut is an Alaska Native 501(c)(3) non-profit agency that was incorporated in 1974 to serve the seven Native tribes in the Chugach Region. A seven-member Board of Directors governs Chugachmiut, with each board member selected by their tribal government. The Board of Directors appoints the Executive Director, who manages the day-to-day operations of the organization. The Board of Directors has adopted the mission and vision statement to guide the organization. Chugachmiut provides a wide range of health services in Seward, Port Graham, Nanwalek, Chenega, and Tatitlek. These services include urgent, emergency, primary, diabetes, pharmacy, dental, nutrition, health education, case management, and tobacco prevention services.
