CIC Plurithematique

The CIC-P was created through an agreement between INSERM and the CHU (university hospital) in February 1995, at the behest of Professor Pierre Drouin and Professor Faiez Zannad. The request for the approval of a research centre was submitted in May 1995 and consent was given on 17 October 1995. Staff recruitment began in May 1995 with a full-time secretary and nurse. A significant amount of medical equipment funded by the coordinating doctor and the principal investigator were made available to the CIC-P, in its premises, in August 1995. From May 1995 to October 1995, before obtaining approval as a research centre, the CIC-Ps activities consisted mainly of setting up the team and training staff in Good Clinical Practices, the protection of volunteers involved in biomedical research and the IT procedures.
