Cihan University-Duhok

Cihan University is the oldest established English-speaking private university and the first multi-campus University in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. Cihan currently has campuses in the major cities of Kurdistan namely: Cihan University Erbil, Cihan University Sulaymania and Cihan University- Duhok Cihan University was established in accordance with the Council of Ministers of Kurdistan Region during February 2007, based on the National Kurdish Assembly enactment No. 33 of the year 2004, and was approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Kurdistan Region No. 192N on the 30th of November 2006. The university became a member of the Association of the Arab Universities (AAU) in 2011.
