City of Union City

Our goal is to provide excellent public service and safety to everyone who lives, works, or plays in Union City. We think this is an awesome place to live, but not just because were centrally located just minutes away from SF and Silicon Valley, or because of our ubiquitous public transit opportunities, or even because of our gorgeous weather throughout the year. What makes Union City great is its residents: the 70,000+ people who live in Union City represent over 14 different races and ethnicities, and nearly 1/3 of our residents speak English and at least one other language. Were impressed. As a family-friendly city, it helps that we have great access to parks and tot lots. Every single one of our residential neighborhoods is within a 10-minute walk of a public park or tot lot. Were also close to a number of regional and state parks.
