City of Yellowknife

The City of Yellowknife provides Municipal Services to residents and businesses in the Capital City of the Northwest Territories. Originally founded in 1953, the City of Yellowknife serves over 19,000 residents in the territories largest city. City Employees provide a complete range of municipal services, including; roads, water & sewer, garbage & recycling, parks & recreation, fire & ambulance, planning & development in some of the harshest weather conditions in North America. We recently launched our 5 Year Economic Development Plan, created with the citizen input through surveys and Public Forum. This is part of a larger move to ramp-up Public Engagement projects. Examples of this include our Lets Talk About Tourism Campaign, an Active Transportation Survey, Our Citizen Budget program, along with an ongoing Civic Pride Our Yellowknife campaign.
