Citywise Education

Citywise is a not-for-profit organisation provides education, sporting and personal development programmes. It began in 1991 in Dublin as a response to educational under-achievement of young people living in difficult city backgrounds and was formally established in 1994. Since then it has gradually developed a range of supports for young people and currently has programmes in Ballymun, in Jobstown and in Belfast. Citywise provides young people with after-school and out-of-school educational support, often urgently needed by those growing up in difficult or hostile city environments. Citywises educational programmes raise the sights of young people, give them an enthusiasm for learning and open up possibilities for further education. Citywise Education recognises the under-provision of support for young people, especially those in adolescent years.
