Greenville County established the fire department in March 1981 under the original name, East Simpsonville Fire Department. The departments name was changed to Clear Spring Fire & Rescue on July 1, 2004. Clear Spring Fire Rescue is a combination department comprised of approximately 45 personnel, Chief, Fire Marshal / Training Officer, 18 career personnel, 12 part-time personnel, and 10 volunteers.
