Cofresh Snack Foods originated in Kenya in the 1960s where Managing Director Priyesh Patels father, Dinesh Papa Patel, owned and ran a factory making potato crisps and popcorn for local cinemas and shops. In 1974 Dinesh and his wife Savita emigrated to the UK and invested their life savings in a fish & chip shop in Leicester. The fish & chip shop closed down but the couples traditional handmade spicy peanuts and green peas which were cooked in the fryers and packed by hand into small pouches soon found favour with consumers and retailers alike.
