Colorado Forest Restoration Institute

In 2004, Congress established CFRI as part of the Southwest Ecological Restoration Institutes (SWERI). We serve as a bridge between researchers, managers, and interested and affected entities working to improve forest resilience to fire in the Interior West. Housed in the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University, CFRI integrates SWERI vision with the land grant university mission of research, outreach, service, and education. CFRI values two-way communication and information flow between academic research institutions and practitioners in the field. We produce usable science with and for our partners
