Commerce Development Research Institute (CDRI) was established in December 2007, and positioned as National Level Services Research Think-tank. CDRIs establishment was based on the major objective of Setting up the benchmark for the service sector by creating high-quality, high added-value innovation capabilities in the services industry development, integrating resources to accelerate its knowledge accumulation and elevate its international competitiveness., which was the concurrences of the National Commerce Development Conference and the 2006 Taiwan sustainable economic growth and development conference, as well as that of the Guidelines and Action Plans for Service Industry Development , approved by the Executive Yuan in 2004.
