Community Energy Action Charitable Trust

CEA is a Christchurch based charitable trust committed to ensuring all homes in the Canterbury region are warm, dry, healthy and energy efficient. There are three core services that enable us to do this: Insulation and heating - CEA provides insulation product, residential assessment and installation services of insulation in Canterbury and the West Coast. We are able to provide subsidies to low-income/vulnerable households, and any income from non-subsidised insulation is put towards our other community projects. CEA also runs a Curtain Bank. We take donated curtains and recycle them, providing new linings and sewing them to fit the windows of households in need. Surplus material is upcycled to create energy-efficient goods such as door sausages and wheat bags.
