Community Energy Project, Inc. (CEP) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, incorporated in the State of Oregon since 1987. We began in 1979 as a project of Responsible Urban Neighborhood Technologies at the height of, and in response to, a national crisis in both energy commodities and social welfare, and in our 43 years, we have matured with our mission as our guiding force: We empower peopleregardless of life circumstance with the appropriate tools and resources to maintain healthier, more livable homes, control their utility costs and conserve natural resources. Our shared vision is a future where all people can afford to live in their homes with dignity, comfort, and safety. Our mission translates to service: We conduct over 100 Do-It-Yourself community workshops for more than 1,300 families at over 140 different Portland-area locations annually.
