Since opening in 1997, our practice and the veterinary industry has seen many changes. Animal Emergency of McHenry County (AEMC) began with the McHenry County Veterinary Association, a group of local veterinarians. The group initially worked on a rotational schedule so that one of the hospitals took the responsibility of weekend emergencies. Several members came together and opened as a Crystal Lake day practice and an after hours emergency clinic.
