Comunidad Inti Wara Yassi

Comunidad Inti Wara Yassi (CIWY) is an internationally recognized Bolivian non-governmental organization that cares for rescued wildlife and increases awareness of the environment and its importance. The organization began in 1992 and has grown to become the largest organization of its kind in Bolivia. CIWY currently maintains three wildlife centres where thousands of injured, abused or mistreated animals are or have been cared for. The organization accepts volunteers from around the world to help care for these animals, involving them in everyday activities such as feeding, cleaning and providing enrichment. In the past 15 years, more than 9,000 international volunteers have offered their help and support.
