Concept Corporation was founded in 1972 by a team of experienced materials, specialty chemical, and packaging industry veterans. Leveraging deep industry networks and a wealth of technical knowledge, a successful executive search practice was created based on an ability to rapidly frame and execute searches. Via the specialty chemical practice, Concept naturally extended its reach into the developing biotechnology industry, and in 1998 officially established Concepts Biotech Practice. Initially focused on therapeutics and industrial biotechnology, Concepts biotechnology recruiters were ideally suited to expand into the emerging biofuels industry.
