Coolmore Stud is owned by John Magnier, originally from Co. Cork. Operating since the 1850s the Magnier family has a long established tradition in the South of Ireland for standing top class National Hunt stallions (like 14-time Champion sire Deep Run). It continues to this day in Cork with top class stallions such as Flemensfirth, Milan, Getaway, Westerner, Yeats etc. Coolmores headquarters in Fethard, Co. Tipperary was later developed in the 1970s in conjunction with John Magniers late father in law, the outstanding horse trainer Vincent O Brien, and Robert Sangster with the objective of creating a world class stallion operation. Coolmore Stud is a global leader in thoroughbred horse racing and breeding, standing the top stallions in Europe, the USA and Australia.
