Copenhagen Metro Team is the main contractor in Denmark responsible for the civil construction of the new Cityring metro project in Copenhagen. The organization is a joint venture lead by the recent born global player Salini Impregilo that actually combines the experiences of two experienced and consolidated construction companies: Salini and Impregilo. The Cityring consists of two single tracks in a twin tunnel each approximately 15,5 km in length and includes 17 underground stations with island platforms, and 5 construction and ventilation shafts. The new metro line shall be a system fully independent from the existing metro (line M1 and M2) in Copenhagen, but it will cross them in 2 different station, Kongens Nytorv and Frederiksberg. Cityringen shall operate 24 hours/7 days a week with a planned operational headway of approximately 100 sec. during rush hours, in the first years of operation.
