Corporis Medical is a start-up company that focusses on the development and commercialization of innovative medical devices that improve outcomes of surgical interventions. Our founder is dr. Alexander Veenhof, surgeon at the NKI-AvL who specializes in oncologic surgery in the thorax, esophagus, stomach and adrenal gland. His experiences in the operating room are the inspiration for the devices we develop. We are currently working on bringing two devices to the market: LaprixaTM and MedicloseTM. LaprixaTM is the worlds smallest tissue blood pressure measuring device, which offers the surgeon a uniquely patient-specific, quantitative, objective, and intraoperative prediction of the wound healing capacity of bowel tissue when performing an anastomosis. If this anastomosis is not adequately supplied with blood, the tissue will not heal sufficiently.
