Mustang News is the award-winning student-run newspaper of the Cal Poly campus. Since 1916, the editorial and reporting staff have been committed to providing the best possible coverage of all news relevant to Cal Polys students, staff and faculty. Through the newspaper, journalism, graphic communication, design, and business students experience the inner workings of a professional daily newspaper, in preparation for careers in the media industry. In the spirit of free speech and student activism, Mustang News is entirely edited by students, with no supervision or censorship by the university administration. Mustang News is self-supporting and entirely financed by advertising sales. Mustang News has received numerous national awards, and is often commended for being on par with professional daily newspapers.
