Criminal Investigation Department (CID)

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is the primary investigative arm of the Ghana Police Service, overseen by the Director-General who reports to the Inspector General of Police (IGP). Tasked with handling all criminal matters, the CID plays a central role in maintaining public safety. This includes running a Detective Training School to ensure detectives nationwide are well-equipped for their roles and coordinating activities across different police offices to address criminal cases effectively.
