Crofting Commission

Our aim is to regulate crofting, to promote occupancy of crofts, active land use, and shared management by crofters, as a means of sustaining and enhancing rural communities. Commissioners Commissioners work 4.5 days per month with a salary of 8,789 per annum. The Convener works 8 days per month with a salary of 20,763 per annum. Three Commissioners were appointed by Scottish Ministers and six Commissioners were elected by crofters. All are supported by the Commissions Chief Executive and Management.
