Crosswinds Youth Services, Inc

Crosswinds began in 1974 in response to community outcry over the discovery of several graves in the area containing the bodies of teenagers who had run away and had been murdered. The community reacted to the shock of this tragedy by opening the organizations first program -- an emergency childrens shelter -- and vowing never to let this happen again. Today, the Crosswinds shelter program is still providing a safety net and a new beginning for Brevard Countys youth and their families. Over the years Crosswinds has grown to provide a range of programs and services developed in response to some of the most critical issues facing youth and their families. These programs offer emergency residential care and supportive services for children in crisis; provide homeless youth with transitional housing and skills training while they work on becoming self-sufficient; help youth age out of the foster care system as independent young adults; assist and reunite families in crisis through co...
