Crown Response Unit

The Crown Response Unit was set up in February 2019 to coordinate the Governments response to the Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry. We report to a cross agency sponsoring group of Ministry Chief Executives, and the Minister for the Crown Response to the Abuse in Care Inquiry. The Royal Commission was established in 2018 to investigate the experiences of tamariki, rangatahi and vulnerable adults in State and faith-based care between 1950 and 1999. The Commissions final report and recommendations are due to be delivered by the end of June 2024.
