Daily Bread Ministries

As a Christian food bank, we proudly distribute about 5 million pounds of food each year in the Greater San Antonio area through a network of churches and ministires we refer to as our Ministry Partners. We base our work on the book When Helping Hurts: How To Alleviate Poverty Without Hurting The Poor. Daily Bread focuses on addressing the root cause of poverty- broken relationships. We do this by helping our Ministry Partners help their communities mend their connections with God, other people, self, and the world around them. We do this, part by offering training to our Ministry Partners. Our two most popular trainings are When Helping Hurts and Experiencing God. We empower our Ministry Partners to go beyond addressing the symptoms of poverty, such as hunger, and educate them on how to better support people living in poverty.
