Danish Philharmonic Orchestra

Danish Philharmonic Orchestra (or Snderjyllands Symfoniorkester (SSO) in Danish) is a philharmonic orchestra of 65 members based in the beautiful Concert Hall Alsion in Snderborg, Denmark. The orchestra plays around 150 concerts per year in a wide range of concerts Classical symphonic music, chamber music, childrens school concerts and opera. The Danish The orchestra serves as the State orchestra for Denmarks South Jutland region and Southern Schleswig in northern Germany. The orchestra celebrated its 60-year anniversary in 2023 as State orchestra, travelling to the Faroe Islands and Greenland on their jubilee tour with great success. The Danish Philharmonic Orchestra excels in music from the Classical Period and Danish composers like Carl Nielsen, Niels W. Gade, Rued Langgaard and Hans Christian Lumbye.
