Darling Range Wildlife Shelter (DRWS), established 2005, is a volunteer organisation located in the eastern Perth hills. Our purpose is to rehabilitate wildlife and promote biodiversity. Around 150 volunteers, aged 16 to 80 years, give over 30 000 unpaid hours annually; undertaking the rescue, rehabilitation and release of native wildlife in need. To actively protect local biodiversity, DRWS volunteers formed the Habitat Box Project. This team install wildlife habitat boxes in response to human-wildlife conflict and environmental degradation.
