A material flow system, also known as a warehouse control system (WCS), is used to receive goods into the shuttle storage buffer. The system also manages the prioritization and release of putaway and retrieval tasks to be executed by the shuttle carriers. Lastly, the WCS manages the order picking and put processes at the workstation. All transactions are fed up to the ERP or WMS system that runs the distribution center.
