The Deer Park Silverton Joint Fire District started operation April 1, 1999. The department was formed by the City of Deer Park and City of Silverton Fire Departments combining. The department consist of 8 fulltime firefighters of which 6 are paramedics and 1 fulltime fire district clerk. The fulltime staff is supplemented by 20 part time 50 paid-on-call firefighters/medic/emts.
