Dempsey Auction Company

Dempsey Auction Co. was founded by Sproull Dempsey and Ray Dempsey in 1965. We are a third generation auction company based in Rome, GA. In the 1940s, Sproull Dempsey had to sell the family dairy farm. He didnt like how the bidding was going at the auction, so he got in the crowd and started working. The auctioneer offered him a job after the sale and the Dempseys have been auctioneers ever since. In 1965, Sproull Dempsey, Sr, Sproull (Bo) Dempsey, Jr. and Ray Dempsey formed Dempsey Auction Co. In the 70s Lynn Dempsey came on board followed by their sister Becky (Dempsey) Woodard. Weve been through ups and downs in the markets and have sold everything from a tractor to a 14 story building in Atlanta. We are licensed in GA, TN, AL, NC & SC.
