Denton County is located on the north side of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Denton County was established by the Texas legislature on April 11, 1846. As of the 2010 census, its population was 662,614 and is one of the fastest growing counties in the United States. Denton County has a total area of 951.54 square miles.
