Established in 1891, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering was one of the first in the country. Prominent alumni include the founder of Medtronic, Earl Bakken, inventor of Cheerios, Lester Borchardt, and the father of the supercomputer, Seymour Cray. The Department offers two undergraduate degrees accredited by ABET, and two graduate degrees. Our degree programs are consistently ranked among the top 20 electrical and computer engineering programs in the United States. All our classes are taught by full-time faculty.
