The Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering presently conducts BSc Engineering degree programme in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, and postgraduate programmes leading to MPhil degrees in Engineering. The Department in recent times has undergone significant changes and expanded its scope widely to accommodate challenges of the 21st century. A major expansion was undertaken in Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing, Mechatronics and undergraduate/postgraduate research. A comprehensive curriculum revision was carried out in the areas; Materials, Manufacturing, Applied Mechanics, Control and Mechatronics, Thermal and Fluid Engineering to accommodate the Outcome Based Education (OBE) system introduced by Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL)...
