The Department of National Defense is the executive department of the Philippine government responsible for guarding against external and internal threats to peace and security in the country. Our mission is to promote the welfare of the Filipino people and defend territorial integrity and sovereignty against internal and external threats to foster national development. We envision a defense organization that is a reliable partner in national development and a strategic player in the Asia-Pacific Region. Since its official creation on November 1, 1939, the Department of National Defense has been a center of Patriotism, Professionalism, Integrity, Honor, and Excellence.
