Detroit Repertory Theatre

The Detroit Repertory Theatre is Michigans longest running nonprofit professional (union) theatre. The mission of the Detroit Repertory Theatre is to produce multi-racial, indigenous, professional theatre and foster cultural democratization of the arts, stimulate strong community engagement and fight, by example, the disturbing level of racism that still exists. The Rep is known for its pioneer efforts in race, ethnic and gender transcendent casting and has remained true to its mission to educate the emotions and change the thoughts of its audiences. This bond has been the crux of its connection within the community.
