DFG North America

The German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, or DFG) is comparable to the National Science Foundation in the US, but supports research in all branches of science, engineering, and the humanities by funding research projects at German universities and other research institutions. One of the DFGs principle goals is to foster the internationalization of German research. Our offices abroad help to carry out this mandate. The DFG maintains offices in Beijing, New Delhi, Sao Paulo, Tokyo, and in Washington DC/New York City/San Francisco. More than half of all DFG-funded research fellows choose North America (the US and Canada) for their postdoctoral training.
