Digital Earth Africa

Digital Earth Africa (DE Africa) is an ambitious program taking Earth observation (EO) satellite imagery specific to Africas land and seas, and translating it into easy to consume information for anyone to use. DE Africa is freely available and once operational will provide a reliable platform capable of tracking changes across the African continent in unprecedented detail. The platform takes years of satellite data and translates it into decision-ready information that provides insights into a range of issues including flooding, droughts, soils, coastal erosion, agriculture, forests and land use and land change, water availability and quality and changes to human settlements. This information will tell a story over time to support decision-making by governments, private sector and civil society.
