Drum & Quill Public House

The Drum & Quill Public House is located in Old Town Pinehurst, the home of American golf. Our building has served the community for nearly a century, once housing the pharmacy and a soda fountain.. The storefront was later converted to a pub, which it remains today. We are committed to serving the public much as a historic Public House. These establishments were expected to receive all travelers who were seeking the comforts of food and drink. Oftentimes, lodging, stables, posting of letters and other necessary services were offered. The early public houses often were identified by simple signs that featured creatures such as lions, dolphins, elephants, bulls or swans so knowing how to read a name was not necessary to identify a location.
