Our Mission Statement: To provide our policyholders with quality insurance products using sound business practices while serving as a good corporate citizen. Dufferin Mutual is a Property and Casualty Insurer that was founded in 1895 as a farm mutual. Our company remains a true mutual insurer today, owned entirely by its policyholders. The headquarters are still in Shelburne, in the heart of the district it serves. Things have changed in the last 100 years, and so has Dufferin Mutual. We are a fully licensed multi-line insurer offering protection for property, automobile, farm and business insurance to over 5000 policyholders. However, what has not changed is that we operate in your area - we are your local insurer. As a corporate citizen for over 100 years, we will continue to support the community in which we work and conduct our business.
