Duffy Books in Homes

Celebrating 30 years of inspiring young readers this August! Duffy Books in Homes is dedicated to nurturing a love for reading among New Zealands tamariki. We provide over 100,000 children in nearly 530 lower-decile schools and more than 280 Early Childhood centres with free books three times a year. Our mission is to break the cycle of booklessness by instilling a passion for reading in Duffy tamariki, fostering future generations of avid readers and leaders. Research underscores our impact: historically schools in our program have seen reading scores improve by up to 35%. Now, tamariki in Duffy schools maintain their reading achievements over the summer holidays, a challenge faced by many others. We take pride in our role as an integral part of school literacy programs, offering tamariki something they can cherish and pass down through generations.
